Snowbombing 2013

Austria’s annual snow festival takes place throughout a variety of venues in the Austrian town of Mayrhofen from Monday 1st until Saturday 6th April 2013. This skier’s ultimate party offers enough live acts and DJs to pack out the entire alpine village.

Mayrhofen gets completely taken over for six days of hedonistic mayhem and extreme skiing events. If spas are your idea of relaxation, this classy resort boasts some of Europe’s most lavish. The nearby Tux glacier is only a short bus ride away, and even though it opens its doors all-year round, it’s best in spring.

For 2013, Kasabian have been confirmed as the headline act rocking the main stage. They join international stars such as Example, Katy B, Rudimental and Carl Cox. Fans will be glad to know that as well as playing a show in Mayrhofen, Kasabian are also playing a second more intimate gig on the mountain itself.

The Snowbombing gigs are held in some unusual locations, such as a forest and a venue made form ice and snow. Apart from the superb live acts, the festival also includes a fancy dress street party.

Previous years have seen the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Labrinth, The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim play here.

This year’s line up also includes: Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Skream, Andy C, James Zabiela, Norman Jay, David Rodigan, Fake Blood, Netsky, Kerri Chandler, Justin Martin, Henrik Schwarz, Dixon & AME, High Contrast, London Elektricity, Camo & Krooked, SPY, Jack Beats, Eats Everything, MistaJam, Shy FX, Anja Schneider, Scuba, Subb-An, Artwork, Toddla T, Todd Edwards, Deetron, Pan-Pot, Loefah, Boddika, Mickey Pearce, Klose1, Oneman, Mosca, Ez, P Money, A Skillz, Krafty Kuts, Plump DJs, Stanton Warriors, Will Saul, Bicep, George Fitzgerald, Breach & Midland, Paul Woolford, System of Survival, Alex Niggemann, Doorly, Marcus Nasty, Geddes, Huxley, Dusky, Crazy P Soundsystem, Maxxi Soundsystem, Brackles, Norwood Soul Patrol, Futureboogie, Smash HiFi, Marc Roberts, and MCs GQ, Dynamite MC and Wrec.

Now for the snow action: Many describe Snowbombing as a unique experience, the combination of skiing and music second to none.
Every year the festival grows, topping capacities of 6,000 – this is over twice the population of Mayrhofen, so this festival really does dominate in a way the locals and visitors mix and party as one.
The skiing comprises of three mountain stages, one forest stage, two ski areas and one Igloo village.  There’s a wide selection of traditional log cabins and catered ski chalets available, all close to the main ski slopes and parties.  If you love the snow, take partying seriously, this unique and scenic environment with a friendly atmosphere is a match made in snow heaven.
