Today Japan’s banks approved JAL bankruptcy, which means very much to the Japan. How many people will be sacked, how much money will be wasted from the Japan’s wallet etc.. All questions that will arise is going to be more and more negative.
But if we face the facts and start to think about the future of Japan’s airline business. Replacements needed there badly, will there be a one big company to take all the traffic or maybe even more interesting opinion. Will the first alliance of budget airlines come out from the closet. At least there are the markets just waiting for someone who wants to take them.
“On the back of news of JAL’s impending bankruptcy and in a timely preemptive strike aimed at preventing JAL defecting to rival Delta Airlines, American Airlines and other Oneworld alliance members will offer a package amounting to 2 billion U.S. dollars in financial assistance to the struggling carrier, Oneworld officials said Tuesday.” reported http://news.xinhuanet.com.
While the offers may become true and the JAL is in fresh hands of Delta or AA the traffic is not. Will the patriotic Japan people travel with US based airline anymore, or do they want to have an another option as well. As well from that, another question should not be overlooked. OneWorld… How is that alliance hold if big companies goes down, one after another. JAL goes now, Japan markets are open, Scandinavian airline will go too sooner or later (Not talking about SAS) and their markets are going really wild. And the oneworld is not one of the winners there either.
Big boys should admit soon that the business in aviation is not the fortune anymore, and pick up their little mirror and look at it, really closely. Now that the big ones goes to their knees, final bill will be huge and the payer is not the airline. Ok, rant off, have a nice flight with OneWorld
Shoot the comment, let’s get it rolling again!
