Ho Ho Ho, It’s the end of the year again and the holiday season is rolling like a jumbo jet towards the 2010. It has been a very nice year here in planegrazy as well as in real life. Hope you all had it as well.
It has also been a very interesting year in aviation industry. Many things have happened, economy gone really bad, but also some nice things, like 787 rollout and the maiden flight.
Here in Planegrazy, the year was absolutely stunning, thanks to you my readers. The most popular post was written in January when Flightsimtools announced their awesome product Addon Converter X for Flight Sim X. It is a stunning piece of a program and recommended to all flight simmers out there.
As there was some good news, there was something bad also. At January Microsoft announced the closing of their developing studio “Aces Studio” and they’re finally commented it in Planegrazy.
Then there was Sir Richard Branson. When Virgin Atlantic released their “fear of flying” application to iPhone, the storm was ready to roll. I got so many emails about that topic that I had to close the comments for good. There were even some very aggressive feedbacks as well as people who wanted to buy the application no matter the costs. I let Mr. Bunn put the words into the comment, and he said all…
In addition, the report from IATA raised interest in readers. They released the passenger and cargo traffic results for the year 2008. “The 22.6% free fall in global cargo is unprecedented and shocking. There is no clearer description of the slowdown in world trade. Even in September 2001, when much of the global fleet was grounded, the decline was only 13.9%,” said Giovanni Bisignani, IATA’s Director General and CEO.” Air cargo carries 35% of the value of goods traded internationally.
And the worst was yet to come…
Here we are, first year passed, better one is coming. What can I say, I’m very glad to see you all onboard, in a business class. I hope you have enjoyed this year as much as I did.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, where ever you are!
Jarkko.
