National carrier Finnair reports that some 500 pieces of luggage are still piled up at Helsinki-Vantaa airport.

The airline says it expects to deliver most of the stranded bags to owners in Finland and beyond by Boxing Day, December 26th.

Winter weather in Finland and other parts of Europe is largely responsible for the backlog. The labour dispute involving baggage handlers has also hampered delivery, despite an agreement reached on Tuesday.
