Representatives from Finnair and the pilots’ union have agreed to a proposal put forward by national labour mediator Esa Lonka. The strike by pilots was immediately cancelled.
On Tuesday, the strike entered its second day with Finnair cancelling a further 200 flights.
Pilots said they refuse to train non-Finnair pilots to fly Finnair planes, claiming that the company wants to replace them with cheaper pilots. Finnair said this is an exaggeration, and that it is simply making preparations to rent its planes out to other companies.
Around 450 flights had been cancelled, affecting more than 32,000 travellers.
