On Thursday August 27, the first phase of a new 150 million euro terminal opens
at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport serving long-haul flight customers and those bound
for other destinations outside the Schengen area.
At this point, new service areas will speed up our customers’ connection-flight
formalities and improve the general enjoyment of Finnair passengers at
Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
“This is the first step towards an extensive change lying ahead in the autumn.
As of Thursday, Finnair customers arriving at the terminal will notice more
spacious waiting areas and new toilet facilities, and two new gates will be
taken into use along with a R-kiosk offering a wide selection of magazines and
books among its product range”, Markku Remes, Customer Experience Management
Manager of Finnair, explains.
The next stage in the terminal transformation will take place on 15 September,
when more shops and the My City Helsinki restaurant world will open in the new
area.
The final stage will be completed on December 11 vwith the opening of a stylish
1,000 m2 Via Lounge. The services provided will include six private shower
rooms, a snack buffet, a well-stocked wine bar, relaxation and working areas.
Unique in the world of airports, a nearly 600 m2 Via Spa environment will also
open. Via Spa will offer four different saunas, an Alpine-style spruce sauna, a
stone sauna, a steam sauna and a traditional Finnish sauna with a view to the
aircraft taxiways.
