Finnair’s Departure 2093: Five Visions of Future Flying is a winner of this
year’s International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards
for Excellence in PR.

The IPRA judges chose Departure 2093 as the best public relations campaign in
the Publications category.

“The prize is PR’s equivalent to winning an Oscar in PR,” said Christer
Haglund, Finnair’s SVP Corporate Communications. “It is a fine demonstration of
how innovative ideas and good stories are in demand around the world.”

Recently the Finnish Association of Professional Communicators (ProCom) also
awarded the Departure 2093 futuristic concept.

The initial idea for the futuristic concept was conceived by Finnair and
developed in cooperation with Miltton, Finnair’s PR agency.

The exploration of the future embarked in celebration of Finnair’s 85th
anniversary in 2008 but it continues to capture the interest of media around
the world. More information on the visions of future flying can be found at
www.departure2093.com.

The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) is a worldwide network of
public relations professionals. To find out more about IPRA and the GWA
winners, visit www.ipra.org.
