LE BOURGET, France, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — PARIS AIR SHOW — Japan Airlines has signed a three-year parts repair agreement with Pratt & Whitney valued at more than $75 million. Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines & Global Services will provide Japan Airlines part repair services for its JT9D and PW4000 engines. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.
“We are pleased to select Pratt & Whitney for our part repair needs,” said Japan Airlines Managing Director Masaaki Haga.
JAL Group is Asia’s biggest airline group in terms of sales revenues and second largest in Asia in terms of passengers carried annually. JAL Group airlines serve 220 airports in 35 countries and territories, including 59 airports in Japan. The international network covers over 258 passenger routes and 28 cargo routes, and the domestic network covers 143 routes.
