Finnair’s domestic terminal lounge will close its doors after Easter, on
Tuesday evening 14 April, due to the redevelopment of the terminals at
Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
Finnair Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver cardholders can in future use the other
lounge facilities in the Schengen terminal. The Golden Gate Lounge is situated
above Gates 28 and 29 and the Silver Wings Lounge above Gates 26 and 26A.
SSP Finland’s lounge facilities, on the other hand, are at the disposal of
Finnair’s business class passengers. The Gateway Lounge is located opposite
Gates 28 and 29, and the Tower Lounge above Gate 25.
In future some of the lounge facilities will provide service for extended open
hours so that they will also be available to passengers of flights departing at
midnight.
The changes are due to the extensive redevelopment under way at
Helsinki-Vantaa, by which Finnair, Finncomm Airlines and oneworld alliance
companies will centralise all their flight operations in the present
international terminal T2 as of 5 August 2009. The present domestic terminal
T1, on the other hand, will be transferred to the use of other airlines.
Background to the redevelopment of the airport can be found in a blog by
Finnair’s Customer Experience Management Manager Markku Remes at the address
http://blogs.finnair.com/2009/02/26/spa/ and on Finavia’s website, address
