Boeing says China needs 3,710 planes over 20 years

Boeing Co aid on Wednesday that China will need 3,710 new commercial airplanes worth $390 billion over the next 20 years, maintaining its position as the world’s fastest growing aviation market. Finnair increases flights to Hong Kong and Bangkok

EASA orders MD-80 flap-warning check before every flight

European safety authorities are to require crews of Boeing MD-80 aircraft, and related variants, to test configuration-warning systems on the types before every flight. The order is contained in a newly-issued airworthiness directive and follows the fatal loss of a Spanair MD-82 during take-off from Madrid on 20 August. Rest of the story here
